One of South Australia’s largest, and most successful karate clubs, is offering this FREE opportunity to attend our Basic Skills Course, for Beginners. Learn about the core values of a traditional Dojo You will learn, and practice Basic Karate Skills We will run through all of the administration of managing your participation in our classes What to wear: any comfortable, exercise clothing – karate suit is not necessary, initially. Who can participate: anyone – children under the age of 8yo, must be accompanied by a parent/carer. What to bring: Drink-bottle, training towel and a small bag (to keep your belongings in). Saturday, February 18th - 6:00pm to 8:00pm Welcome to our first Social Dinner for 2023. So much has happened, since our last dinner, in 2022: Beach Training, Christmas Break, a strong return to training in 2023, and Sensei’s Visit. 2023 is already shaping-up to be an awesome year for us; with so much happening all throughout the year. It really is looking to be a fantastic year to be doing Karate. So much “Karate Stuff” to chat about 😊 Importantly: Building a stronger social connection with your peers, helps you to stay motivated. Having a stronger Social Network within the Dojo, helps to ‘pool resources’, and work together to facilitate travel, and training. About the Parafield Gardens Community Club: Is a safe and welcoming premises for Families Has a secure (fenced) lawn area, for the children to play Jindokai Members can become members of the Parafield Gardens Community Club, and receive 10% discount on all meals and drinks. REGISTRATIONS CLOSE - Wednesday, November 16th - NO LATE REGISTRATIONS   We're excited to announce our last Grading Test, for 2022. Please pay attention to your category's schedule - plan to be early - plan to stay a while, afterward (to watch). Special Note: Brown Belt Test, at 3:00pm - ALL Brown Belts and Black Belts are encouraged to attend - even if you're not being assessed. Participating, but not being assessed DOES NOT REQUIRE A TICKET. Being a Black Belt is about behaviour, as much as it is about knowledge & skills - being an example, being a role-model, and supporting your colleagues are all Black Belt characteristics. Test Inclusions: Question Time Basic Skill Drills Target Work – precision and timing Kumite – Skills & Assessment criteria Kata – at least 3 Kata NORMAL ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA APPLIES: All Participating Members MUST be able to demonstrate the following: Complete the minimum number of Training Sessions Competency in Kata; including knowledge of applications, and skilfully performed Competency in Kumite; including an understanding of essential assessment criteria Understands basic terminology, and concepts of traditional Karate training Recommendations: Stay and watch the group that follows your group - making sure that you write down anything that you are unsure about - helping you to be better prepared for your next test. Attend, even if you are not participating - it is recommended that you attend, to watch, and prepare for your next test. Bring a note-pad – write yourself notes – what went well? – what did not? TERMS & CONDITIONS: Don’t be late: Participants will NOT be given entry, if arriving after your Test has commenced. Passing is NOT guaranteed: Participants that do not achieve the required ‘pass-mark’, WILL NOT receive a new Rank. NO PASS - No Refund: Attempting your test, but not passing, will cost you your entire fee. ALL PAYMENTS TO BE MADE ON THE EVENT PLATFORM – NO PAYMENTS ACCEPTED, AT THE DOJO.

World Karate Day is celebrated in late October, each year; and is celebrated with the 100 Kata Challenge. We will be hosting a (Shotokan) 100 Kata Challenge at our Playford Dojo, on October 30th, for the 2022 World Karate Karate Day. Registration is Required (on this platform), to manage Payment and official attendance. Registered participants will receive a commemorative certificate. Saturday, October 22nd - 6:00pm to 8:00pm We have started scheduling 'Monthly Group Bookings' - for no special reason, just to hang out, eat, and relax, together - each person to pay for their own meals & drinks. The Parafield Gardens Community Club have 'Counter Meals' on Saturday nights; from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. October 22nd also has a band playing, FEVER, after 8:00pm (free entry), for those that are interested in 'sticking around'. Jindokai Shotokan Karate-Do: Friday Fight Club Fight Club is a "Competition Development Program", aimed at assisting participants that intend to compete in tournaments. This is an "Additional Program"; and, is NOT included in your Fortnightly Direct Debits. October 16th 2022 We're planning a 'Road-Trip' to Warrnambool, for the Annual Funakoshi Karate Open Championships. Please use the "Ticket" function (on this page), to indicate your participation. October 15th - Road-trip Leaving Adelaide, nice and early - Breakfast at the Tailem Bend OTR (Motorsport Park) Lunch at Mt Gambier Arrive Warrnambool - unpack - Dinner October 16th - Competition Day:  Last time, the competition finished by 2:00pm - we drove straight back, and were home before 9:30pm Accommodation:  I have already booked my Cabin, at the BIG4 Warrnambool Figtree Holiday Park - (click here) Please make your own arrangements - thank you. Travel: At this stage, we're looking at car-pooling - but, if numbers are significant, I am considering hiring a Bus, I am licensed. Jindokai Shotokan Karate-Do: Social Evening (informal dinner) Saturday, September 24th - 6:00pm to 8:00pm In an effort to develop our 'Social' connection within our Dojo's membership; we are introducing some 'Social Evenings' at the Parafield Gardens Community Centre.
